This vintage ring is a fine example of a mid-century engagement ring. The center diamond is a"fishtail setting";. A Fishtail setting has three prongs on each corner, and from a side view, there is a circle. The Fishtail gets its name because the side view looks like a fish’s tail. Two diamonds are set on each side of the shank in the gold with a fancy hand engraved design to make the diamonds stand out.
The center diamond is Color G; Clarity VS-2.
